Hi! My name is Sarita Sanger.
I’m a 26-year-old artist from the Netherlands, and the brain behind the Dreadlys and SaritaSangerArt, founded in 2024.

One question I get almost daily is: How do you even come up with this?! Where does your inspiration come from?

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve had a fascination for the darker side of things. I was obsessed with Tim Burton films, the whole vibe, the atmosphere of spooky Halloween movies… it just had me hooked. I still can’t put my finger on it, but spooky vibes have always felt magical to me.

It didn’t take long for that to show through in my art. While other kids drew princesses, hearts, and cute animals, I was sketching eerie characters. If I started drawing a sweet old man, he’d quickly end up with hollow eyes and sharp teeth. I’ve always loved exploring what gives people that shiver down their spine and pushing those boundaries.

I’d dreamed of being an artist for as long as I can remember, but in my early adult years I worked “normal” jobs. It never felt right. I couldn’t pour my creativity into them, and I’d come home drained and tired, knowing I had so much more to give.

Eventually, I’d had enough. Scrolling social media, looking at people who followed their passion, I thought: I want this too. So I took the leap.

From day one, I went all in, full-time, no way back. I kept going no matter what obstacles showed up. Even when I doubted myself, wondering if this was the right choice or if it would ever work, I didn’t stop. And it paid off. Within just one year, my work exploded into a successful business, with opportunities to grow everywhere I look.
